Our methodology
How we review
Toolfork helps you find an alternative to a tool you already use. Here's exactly how each profile and comparison is put together, so you know what you're reading and how far to trust it.
1. We collect the facts first
Every profile starts from public product data: the SaaSHub catalog (alternatives, features, pricing notes, screenshots) and the vendor's own website (logo, app-store links, pricing page). Platforms are only listed when we find a real download or store link.
2. Summaries are written only from those facts
The overview and FAQs on each page are drafted with the help of an AI model that is given the collected facts and told to use nothing else: no invented prices, features or integrations. If a fact isn't available, the page says so rather than guessing.
3. Pages go live only when they're useful
A profile is published only once it has a logo, a written overview, at least three FAQs and at least three real alternatives. Until then it stays out of search results. A comparison page needs at least three published alternatives.
4. Everything is re-checked on a schedule
Live pages are re-checked against the source data regularly, and complete profiles are re-scraped at least every 45 days, so pricing and features track what vendors currently show. The 'Updated' date on each page is when its facts last changed.
5. Rankings aren't for sale
Alternatives are ordered by how closely they match the original tool in the SaaSHub catalog. No vendor can pay to move up a list or to be added to one.
6. Ads are always labeled
Toolfork is free to use and may show advertising. Ads are visually separate from the editorial content and never change which tools we list or the order we list them in.
Spotted something wrong?
Vendors change pricing and features often. If a page is out of date, email hello@toolfork.net with the page link and we'll re-check it. You can also browse every comparison.
